Book Design

At Monkey C Media, we love designing eye-catching book covers and complementary interior book layouts. Our award-winning books have been celebrated at the Banff Film Festival, the Benjamin Franklin Book awards, IPPYs, Axiom, and more.

We Love Books,
Inside and Out

Did you know you have less than a second to grab the attention of your readers? That’s why every successful book campaign begins with the book cover.

At Monkey C Media, we follow best practice standards to ensure that your cover is on par with your comparable titles. This means it looks great from a distance and as a thumbnail, grabs attention, and compels a potential reader to know more.

Yes, people DO judge a book by its cover. We work with traditional, hybrid, and independently published authors. This is an honor that we take very seriously. Your cover matters!

Let’s Talk About Your Cover!

01

BEFORE + AFTER EXAMPLE

We love the opportunity to redesign existing covers that aren’t quite right. In this example, we take a cover from author Kurt Kamm, that looks more like a memoir than an action/adventure book, and recreate an exciting new cover.

My experience with Monkey C Media was excellent. They designed a stunning new cover for me quickly and efficiently. There was no wasted time or effort. Best of all, it was a pleasure to work with them.

Book Packaging + Publishing Consulting

When author Lew Maurer came to us, we knew we were about to work on something special. His project was an amalgamation of a memoir and a coffee table photo book—we knew that the story was just as important as his beautiful photos and we were excited to get started.

03

Award-Winning Design

Our designer, Chad Thompson, is an avid fly-fisher, so when Patagonia Books approached us to design a special book on Tenkara techniques, we were over-the-moon excited. Plus, our designs became the driving force behind all of their marketing materials and it felt pretty good to see Chad’s work prominently displayed in Patagonia stores all over the country.

04

More Than Book Design

When we started this project, the title of the book was Killer Culture. Every design we created felt wrong, so I decided to reread the book and rethink our approach. Then it donned on me that this book is about more than company culture, it’s about leading a tribe of happy employees and loving what you do. Once the new title was in place, the cover design came quickly. What a difference a title makes.
