The Riddle of Prague
Middle Grade is so much fun, and when we know we have a series in our midst, it’s even more fun! We get to flex our creative muscles and engage in visual-world building.
Laura knew she wanted her characters to be riding a motorcycle on all of her covers. We needed to composite several motorcycle images and riders to get just the right look. We neded up using six motorcylces and five different riders, plus we drew in the remaining elements to give it’s final look.
The Riddle of Prague also inlcudes four sky images, plus the moon, and several cityscapes that were needed to depict the world of Laura’s book and bring it to life.
With Middle Grade, and Fantasy in particular, the world needs to have a certain dreamy character to it in order to feel like Fatasy, so we applied an affect to the final cover that brought it all together.
