Links, links and more links

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

There are several types of links that you can use to increase your page ranking.  The more links you have, the better.  Here’s a breakdown of the types of links you should have on your Web site:

URL Links: where the website address (URL) is the actual link and what the visitor views and clicks on.  This type of link helps increase your page ranking popularity among search engines.  Example of URL link:  www.amarketingexpert.com

Title & Name links:  Where the name of the Web site or business is the link and the address is not visible to the viewer.  This may help page ranking, but the words used are highly important. Example of Title & Name link:  Author Marketing Experts, Inc.

Anchor text links: this type of link points to a designated page; it targets specific search terms. You could link to a specific offering on your site, like a TeleClass, your e-book or a FREE newsletter.  These types of links are highly effective to increase a specific page’s ranking and are very popular in the SEO community.  Again, word choice is very important and you should do some research on effective keywords for your market.

Welcome to another savvy tip from Monkey C Media. A great way to increase your page ranking is through Google News.

Here are two ways to get your articles listed on Google News, but through the back door: First, log on to American Chronicle and scroll down to submit work - many of the articles featured on this site are also available on Google News; second submit your articles to PRLeap.com - these will also be made available on Google News. You should be submitting your articles and press releases to as many free submission sites as possible.

Welcome to another Savvy Googler Tip from Monkey C Media: This week’s tip is Google Site maps. A Google site map ensures that Google indexes every page of your site, not just your home page (Index page). It’s as simple as creating a Google account and requesting a site map for your URL; you can add as many sites as you want to this account. Try it, it’s free.
